How to Configure Assessment Target Values
Setting Assessment Target Values is a critical step in the planning phase. It allows you to define the desired maturity level your organization aims to achieve for specific domains, capabilities, and practices. By configuring these targets, you create a benchmark to measure your actual assessment results against, helping to identify gaps and prioritize improvements.
Prerequisites
- You must have an existing assessment in Draft or In Progress status.
- You need Editor or Admin permissions to modify assessment details.
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Navigate to the Assessments Module
From the main dashboard, click on the Assessments tab in the left-hand sidebar navigation. This opens the list of all current and past assessments. -
Open the Assessment Details
Locate the specific assessment you wish to configure. Click on the Assessment Name (e.g., My Assessment Name) to open its detailed overview page. -
Locate the Target Values Section
Scroll down the Assessment Details page, past the "Assessment Information" section, until you find the section titled Assessment Target Values. -
Enter Edit Mode
Click the Edit button (pencil icon) located to the right of the "Assessment Target Values" header. This will unlock the dropdown menus for all domains and capabilities. -
Define Your Targets
You can set target values using two methods depending on the granularity you need:- Individual Selection: Click the dropdown menu next to a specific sub-item (e.g., Personal Security) and select the desired target level (e.g., Quantitatively Managed (4)).
- Bulk Domain Selection: To save time, click the dropdown menu next to a top-level Domain Header (e.g., Purpose / Policies or People). Selecting a value here will automatically apply that target level to all sub-capabilities within that domain.
-
Save Your Changes
Once you have finished configuring the target levels, scroll to the top or bottom of the section and click the Save button to commit your changes to the system.
Tips / Outcome
After saving, the Edit mode will close, and you will see your selected values (e.g., Quantitatively Managed (4)) displayed as the new standard for that assessment. These targets will now be used as the baseline for your reporting and gap analysis.
